Xero brings you, in association with Summer of Code 09, a hot summer of seminars. Tech-talks, lunch, networking opportunities, SoC 09 connects the Wellington IT community with the future talent pool!
John Clegg from
ProjectX will give us some context on IT career pathways and a headsup on how SoC participants can make the best of the opportunities ahead. He'll outline the XSSS programme, give us a down-load on how SoC 09 launches IT Careers, and introduce Craig Walker from
Xero. Craig will give the first of our "SoC Company Pitches", a 5 minute tech-talk on what's happening "under the hood" at Xero, and the latest & greatest innovations that their SoC 09 intern is working on.
The Xero Summer Seminar Series (XSSS) is designed to inform, upskill and connect the Wellington Summer of Code students with the wider IT community. A light lunch & networking will follow the seminar, and ALL SoC 09 participants (students & companies) are welcome to attend, free of charge.
Other members of the Wellington IT community are very welcome too! We are a not-for-profit programme, and would hugely appreciate a small donation from non-SoC attendees (e.g. $10 waged, $5 unwaged) to help cover the costs of this event.
